The EDC movement crystalized the importance of being prepared into a modern, cool, grown-up form. Carry a small set of dependable items, specific to your needs and taste.
There may be an opportunity to do something similar for tools. Help clarify what's needed for basic repairs, a simple fix to misaligned "quick assembly" furniture, and general handywork.
